COVID-19
Joining the Fight

COVID-19 UPDATE

Despite the Covid-19 global crisis, our comprehensive care centres in Cambodia, China and India have resumed some activities and are providing a small number of surgeries. During this period, we are working on improving and expanding the infrastructure of our centres. Once ready, international medical volunteers will have access to utilise these facilities, increasing delivery of care for the growing number of children waiting to receive surgery.

Meanwhile, amidst the fight against the pandemic, members of Smile Asia alliance are joining efforts in response to the outbreak. Our constituent member from China, Future Smile Charitable Foundation has procured 700,000 surgical masks, in addition to 118 monitors and 193 ventilators for 82 hospitals in Hubei province.

From Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa and Medical Investment Pte Ltd have donated 50,000 masks. Our Hong Kong counterpart has mobilised the support of KPMG employees to send more resources. Member charities in the United States and India are likewise coordinating for further assistance.

Covid-19 has also impacted our activities. To ensure the safety of our patients and medical volunteers, we have rescheduled our medical missions to 2022.

Smile Asia will continue to support the global fight against Covid-19 and would like to thank our medical volunteers and all other healthcare workers who are tirelessly working in the frontline.
