When we organize a medical mission, we gather tools and medications and follow protocols. But the most valuable thing we all bring is emotion. The supporters’ generosity and volunteers’ work transmit hope and empowerment to the families.
And the families teach us strength and resilience. We all learn togetherness.
We treat the visible condition and the emotions of the child they live with. Children with cleft conditions often suffer isolation, low esteem, and bullying. Our treatment goes beyond surgery. It improves their mental health too.
