The Smile Mission Ltd (‘TSM’) is a registered charity in Singapore under the Charities Act with UEN 200720373E and Charity Registration No. 2077.
TSM is the International Secretariat of Smile Asia – a global alliance of charities working together to treat facial deformities. TSM operates the website www.smileasia.org (the ‘Website’) and all donations through the Website is booked by TSM.
If you wish to donate to other member charities, please visit websites of China (www.futuresmile.org.cn), Hong Kong (www.beaminternational.org), India (www.missionsmile.org) or United States (www.brightfaces.org).
TSM cannot issue double income tax benefits to donors because it does not have an IPC status. TSM is unable to apply for an IPC status because its programmes are targeted across Asia as a whole. It is a requirement that activities of a charity are primarily beneficial to the community in Singapore to apply for IPC status.
Donations received will be primarily used on expenses relating to collaborative learning activities of healthcare volunteers who offer their services in overseas medical missions, delivery of surgical care as an outcome of the collaborative learning, and other support expenses. Should you wish your donation to be used differently, please inform us by email at info@smileasia.org.
The following are the Terms which govern each use you make of the donation payment services provided through the Website.
These Terms apply separately to each single donation that you make. Except as provided for under ‘Monthly Donations’ below, and unless specified by you, they do not form a contract allowing for future or successive transactions to be set up. By confirming on the Website that you wish to make a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms for that donation.
1. The Donation Services
We will use your donation at our discretion but within our stated charitable objectives.
All payments through the Website are made through Stripe or PayPal, who are our payment services providers.
Acceptance of any gift is at the discretion of TSM. TSM will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of TSM.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances, the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.
TSM will accept donations of cash. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of TSM.
Certain gifts and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for TSM.
TSM will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. Concerning anonymous gifts, TSM will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.
Once you confirm to TSM through the Website that you wish to proceed with your donation, your transaction will be processed through Stripe or PayPal. By confirming that you wish to proceed with your donation you authorize TSM to request funds from your credit or debit card providers.
TSM will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to TSM.
2. Unauthorised card use
If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider.
3. Information from you
Before we can process a donation, you must provide us with (i) your name, phone and email address; and (ii) details of the credit or debit card that you wish to use to fund the donation. We will use this information to process your donation. It is your responsibility to ensure you have provided us with the correct information.
When you submit your payment details, these details will be transferred to our payment services providers and your payment data will be collected and processed securely by them. You should make sure that you are aware of Stripe’s and PayPal’s terms and conditions, which are different from our own, to ensure that you are comfortable with how they will process your personal data before you make a donation.
We won’t share your personal details with any other third party other than what is set out in our Privacy Policy (www.smileasia.org/privacy-policy). Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and by agreeing to these Terms you are also agreeing to the way we use and protect your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms will only apply to successive donations made through the Website where you have set up a monthly donation. When you set up a regular donation you will be scheduling a series of donations to be made on the day of the month that you choose until further notice. You agree that these Terms will apply to each of the donations in that series.
By confirming that you wish to proceed with a monthly donation you authorize our payment service providers to request funds from your credit or debit card on the day of each month that you set.
